Nassau police are trying to track down two suspects who pistol-whipped and robbed a man in Roosevelt last night before driving off in his Mercedes.
Investigators say it happened on Decatur Street at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday. The victim was exiting his vehicle when two suspects armed with a handgun jumped over a fence and yelled for him to get down on the ground.
Police say the suspects removed cash from the victim's pockets, and one of the suspects struck the man with the gun in the back of the head.
The pair then jumped into the victim's black 1997 Mercedes and drove away, heading north on Decatur Street and then west on Underhill Drive, according to investigators.
The victim suffered a laceration to his head, but refused medical attention.
Police describe the suspects as black males in their mid-20s, standing at approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall. They wore black ski masks, and one of them wore green pants and a gray shirt, police say.
The missing car's license plate is GGJ-3065. Anyone with information is being urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
