Police say two drivers were both impaired when they crashed into each other in Ronkonkoma early Sunday morning.
The collision occurred around 3 a.m. on Smithtown Avenue. According to investigators, 22-year-old Thomas Boyer, of Bohemia, was behind the wheel after using drugs and alcohol. He crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another car.
The driver of that vehicle, 46-year-old Selden resident Timothy Miller, was allegedly drunk.
Both men were taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center with injuries that are serious but not considered life-threatening.
They will be arraigned at a later date, police say.
