A federal court judge sentenced Ronnell Wilson to death for the murder of two NYPD detectives in 2003.

Wilson told the court that he was sorry for the pain he caused the family of James Nemorin, of Baldwin Harbor and Rodney Andrews Jr.

Wilson fatally shot the two detectives while they were working an undercover gun buying operation in 2003. Wilson was convicted in 2006 and sentenced to death in 2007, but an appeals court overturned the sentence.

Rodney Andrews Sr. says true justice for him will be watching Wilson die.

It is not clear when the death sentence will be carried out. Wilson has 14 days to appeal the sentence.
