A convicted sex offender is behind bars after he allegedly molested two teenage boys who worked for him at an upholstery store in Bellmore.
Police say 49-year-old Alfred Balcerak opened up the Dun Rite Upholstery Store in April. Nassau Det. Lt. Karl Schoepp says Balcerak sexually abused the boys at the store. The mother of one of the boys had been suspicious of Balcerak and discovered he was a level-2 sex offender after looking him up on the Internet.
Balcerak was convicted in 1998 of sexually abusing a young girl and teenage boy. He was arrested for the recent allegations on Sunday at a friend?s house in Long Beach.
Balcerak is being held on $250,000 bond.
