Computer error causes tickets woes for LIRR riders

Officials say 7,200 LIRR riders tried to use their new Metro tickets at the subway yesterday but it did not work.  The MTA apologized for the incident, admitting they mailed out December's monthly

Officials say 7,200 LIRR riders tried to use their new Metro tickets at the subway yesterday but it did not work. 
The MTA apologized for the incident, admitting they mailed out December's monthly "Mail and Ride" tickets with MetroCards with a zero available balance. 
The MTA says if you have a problem today, show your MetroCard to a station agent or bus driver. 
According to the MTA, buy a new 30-day unlimited ride MetroCard and the MTA will issue a $119 credit to your Mail and Ride account.
