Daily commuters that News 12 spoke to Tuesday said they are seeing less and less cars crowding Long Island Rail Road parking lots since the coronavirus was discovered on Long Island.
One Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) Bus commuter told reporter Shonna Narine that she is not seeing people adhere to safety guidelines, such as using hand sanitizer or wiping down their seats.
According to its site, NICE Bus has “enhanced our daily cleaning procedures, including disinfecting all high-touch surfaces every evening (every 24 hours). These include poles, handrails, seats, benches and grab bars on vehicles. Public service messages are being installed in all vehicles and transit centers.”
On Monday, the MTA held a news conference that laid out measure it is taking to keep commuters safe.
