When the temperatures drop, it can be dangerous on Long Island roads and Thursday was no exception.

The blast of snow made the morning and afternoon commutes messy on several roadways. A vehicle flipped over on the Northern State Parkway near Round Swamp Road. On the Long Island Expressway, a SUV had to push another car to safety. There was also a multi-vehicle accident near Route 110.

Some Long Islanders say they are happy to finally have winter weather. Other residents can?t wait for the temps to warm back up. Meanwhile, the temperatures are expected to hit the freezing mark overnight.
