Watch Team Meteorologist Addison Green says there could be rain coming Tuesday evening into Wednesday with cold temperatures throughout the week.
WHAT'S NEW: A storm system will move up from the Southern Plains, giving Long Island a chance for rain by the Tuesday evening commute, with heavier rain coming in overnight, and the showers tapering off Wednesday morning.
WHAT'S NEXT: Temperatures will continue to trend below average heading into the weekend. Sky conditions are expected to remain fair though, and lasting into the shortened work week, next week.

OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear skies at first, then an increase in clouds through the early morning hours. Expect another cold night though. Lows: low upper 20s to low 30s.
TUESDAY: WEATHER 2 WATCH Mostly cloudy skies in the morning with rain arriving by 5—8 PM across the island. Rain will be heavy at times in the overnight hours Highs: mid to upper 40s. Lows: low 40s.
WEDNESDAY: WEATHER 2 WATCH Moderate to light showers in the early morning hours then scattered showers tapering off by midday. Expect breezy conditions from time to time. Highs: low 50s. Lows: mid 30s.
THURSDAY: Scattered clouds and breezy winds from time to time. Highs: upper 40s. Lows: low to mid 30s.
