News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says the coldest weather of the season approaches for Thursday before a weekend of seasonable temperatures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
-Freeze warning for Suffolk County from midnight to 9 a.m. Thursday. Temperatures near 30 degrees with a widespread frost and freeze. This could kill crops and outdoor plants and damage any outdoor plumbing.
-Coldest weather of the season so far tonight through Friday morning. It will be dry and clear with beautiful skies.
-Temperatures rebound into the 60s for the weekend with sun and clouds, it will be beautiful! Showers return the middle of next week.
-Daylight Saving Time Ends. Turn clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. to 1 a.m.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows near 32. Widespread frost and a freeze in Suffolk County. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 7:24
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs near 49. North to west winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 5:48
THURSDAY NIGHT: Clear and cold with lows near 33. Light west winds.
