We have one more really cold night and morning on the way before temperatures start to turn around. Wednesday morning will be bright, sunny but cold. Temperatures will start out in the single digits and teens.
Winds won't be quite as harsh, but wind chills will be near zero to about 5 degrees in the morning. By the afternoon and evening, temperatures will be above freezing. They also stay above freezing into Thursday but there is a risk of some light snow showers late Wednesday and into Thursday with the arrival of the milder air.
Winter will return in a big way this weekend. There will be another Arctic outbreak and a potential storm on Sunday. There is still a high level of uncertainty tied to this forecast as it is several days away, so be sure to stay with the Storm Watch team on News 12 Connecticut for more details.
Scenario 1 would have no snow in Connecticut with dry air winning the battle, but it would be bitterly cold as a result. This would mean the storm track gets suppressed too far south for our area to see significant impacts.
Scenario 2 would bring the storm closer if the cold and dry air is not as vigorous, therefore, bringing a chance of more measurable snow to the tri-state area again.
