Coast Guard warns boaters of large debris in Long Island Sound

The Coast Guard says debris, downed trees, logs and branches are being emptied into the waters near Port Jefferson.

The Coast Guard is urging boaters to be on alert for large debris floating in the Long Island Sound.
A photo of an entire dock floating in the water was taken by a boater in the Connecticut River, which flows into the Sound.
The Coast Guard says debris, downed trees, logs and branches are being emptied into the waters near Port Jefferson.
They say it is being carried by floodwaters that hit Connecticut and other New England states.
