A partially submerged boat was found near Gilgo Beach Tuesday morning, prompting an investigation by Suffolk police and the Coast Guard.
News 12 was on the scene where only a small part of the boat could be seen sticking out of the water.
Suffolk police say the Marine Bureau responded to reports of a sunken vessel shortly after 8:30 a.m. in an area known as Hemlock Cove.
It was not immediately clear where the boat came from, or why it sank.
Authorities say the boat was unoccupied and no one was hurt.
