Several local Jewish organizations have announced they are banding together to fight anti-Semitism on Long Island and to educate the community.

The move comes after the terror attacks in Paris last week, which included an attack at a kosher market. Steven Markowitz, of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau, says he's worried that similar hatred could find its way to Long Island.

"I think we're in the most dangerous period for the Jewish community since World War II," Markowitz says.

The New York chapter of the Anti-Defamation League says anti-Semitism appears to be on the rise on Long Island. The group says it expects an uptick in incidents in the year ahead.

The coalition will seek to educate young people of the dangers of hate and bias.
