Twelve people, including three city workers, were arrested in connection with a Glen Cove drug ring, Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced Tuesday.
Rice said police confiscated $22,000 in cash and tens of thousands of dollars in cocaine. Five guns, including a sniper rifle, were seized as well, Rice said. The arrests were made Saturday, when police raided five houses.
Authorities said Glen Cove resident Julies Coston ran the elaborate narcotics ring. Department of Public Works Supervisor Arnold Taylor, Department of Public Works worker Daryl Holley and Parks Department employee Derek Thompson were also arrested as a result of the year-long investigation. Mayor Ralph Suozzi said the city workers' employment fate has not yet been decided.
Rice said more arrests are expected.
