The Nassau County Police Department has a new chief of detectives.
Chris Ferro took the oath of office in Mineola.
He has been serving and protecting people for nearly 40 years.
He started with the NYPD and then came to the Nassau County Police Department.
Ferro is taking the role previously held by NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell.
