An East Patchogue man is pleading with officials for a guardrail after three separate crashes into his backyard.

Chris DiRusso is begging the town and county to install a guardrail outside of his Woodside Avenue home. He says there have been three crashes into his backyard in nine years. In 2004, he says a car barreled through his backyard. Then, in 2007, he says a car clipped the fence and raced off. Two weeks ago, an unloaded school bus crashed through the fence.

Neighbors have joined the fight to convince the Town of Brookhaven or Suffolk County's Department of Public Works to install guardrails.

The DPW says a traffic study and decision on guardrails could take several months.
