Chicken sandwich wars between fast-food restaurants lead to chicken shortage

A poultry shortage is forcing restaurants including KFC and Wingstop to pay higher prices for chicken. Independent business have reportedly gone weeks without wings and are getting hit the hardest due to chicken breast prices more than doubling since the start of 2021. The "chicken sandwich wars" between fast-food chains are attributed to the growing shortage.
In a pandemic-era low, 498,000 Americans filed for unemployment for the first time, in the week ending May 1. That is better than the 540,000 that was expected -- continuing claims are just below 3.7 million.
Google says it expects 20% of its employees to work from home after its offices reopen later this year. It expects 60 percent of its employees to be on site a few days a week.
