Brave men and women were honored in Ronkonkoma Saturday for their military service overseas.
The group of 125 National Guard soldiers served nine months in Kuwait as members of an aviation support battalion before returning home in September. They were charged with providing maintenance for approximately 40 aircraft during their deployment.
A Freedom Salute ceremony was held at the Army Aviation Support Facility, followed by fun and games for families to enjoy.
The soldiers will spend the holidays with their families and return to their day jobs. They will receive more National Guard training at their Ronkonkoma facility in a few months.
