A Central Islip teacher has been suspended for allegedly pushing a student.
The school's superintendent says a student was walking down the hall last month when his hat accidentally hit the teacher. The teacher is accused of then shoving and yelling at the student.
The teacher is not being identified, and no charges have been filed.
The district says the safety of students and staff is a top priority.
