Central Islip school officials warn parents about man trying to expose himself to student

Officials say a man was seen walking toward the victim with his private parts exposed on Vanderbilt Ave.

Police are searching for the man who tried to expose himself to a student walking to school in Central Islip.
The Central Islip School District notified parents and the police about the incident. According to the district, the incident happened around 2 p.m. Monday.
Officials say a man was seen walking toward the victim with his private parts exposed on Vanderbilt Ave. The flasher was then confronted by a passing driver and took off.
Sara Sarabia, a mom in Central Islip who has daughters and a son, says she'll be keeping a closer eye on her kids from now on.
"It's scary," says Sarabia. "I don't even let him walk around in the street, not even to the corner because you never know."
No one was hurt in the incident. School officials say the girl didn't even notice because she was wearing headphones.
Police say they are looking into the incident.
