CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Violent arrest made inside Boreum Hill liquor store; investigation underway

A violent arrest was captured on camera inside a liquor store in Boerum Hill on Tuesday.

In an exclusive video obtained by News 12 you can see the moments a man is punched and kicked repeatedly by two officers.

“Why are you punching him!" People can be heard screaming during the arrest.

It all happened inside Brooklyn Wine Depot Corp. located at 214 Hoyt St. just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

After the initial struggle the two officers can be seen on top of the man instructing him to place his hands behind his back.

Blood can be seen on the floor of the store. The man was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

At this time, it is unclear what led to the arrest. Police say an investigation is underway following the incident.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch released a statement on X, confirming that the officers are now on modified duty. 

She says the officers' guns and shields have been removed.

Mayor Mamdani has also released a statement confirming the investigation saying the actions of the officers as “disturbing” and “unacceptable”
