A renewed surge in catalytic converter thefts has Long Islanders on edge.

Suffolk County reported more than 30 catalytic converter thefts in the last week.

Nassau County has had thefts in several communities, including Syosset, Farmingdale, Bethpage and Massapequa.

Some of the crimes were caught on camera, the brazen thieves often operating under the cover of darkness in the middle of the night.

Drivers are advised to keen their vehicles in garages if possible.
