Irvington residents came together to save a cat they feared couldn't eat or breathe due to having a jar on its head.

After days of failing to capture the cat, a rescuer with a Long Island-based shelter grabbed the cat Monday and removed the jar.

The rescuers are now trying to find a home for the cat.
