A Carle Place clerk endured a harrowing ordeal when he was robbed, beaten and kidnapped by armed thieves.
Police say the 31-year-old man was leaving CBL Check Cashing on Old Country Road Wednesday night when two armed men ordered him to get into a green minivan. When he said no, they hit him on the head and threw him in the van.
According to police, the frightening ordeal ended on 238th Street in Elmont. The victim was dumped on the street where he managed to walk to a gas station and call police. The check cashing store was not robbed but the men did take the victim's cell phone.
