A Copiague man is under arrest Wednesday after cops say he fled police at a high rate of speed before crashing into a Lindenhurst home.
According to police, the chase began at around 2:30 a.m. on Montauk Highway. Police say when an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the subject led police on a short pursuit before officers lost sight of the car.
When police finally located the vehicle, it had already crashed into the side of a home on Wellwood Avenue. Police say the suspect fled on foot before he was caught in a nearby yard.
Edward Figuereo, 17, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, unlawfully fleeing police, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.Figuereo is being held on $25,000 cash bail. He is due back in court on Dec. 17.
