A single-car accident on the New England Thruway in the Bronx left six people in the hospital Saturday and has raised questions about child safety seats.
Police say a 1989 Ford Taurus jumped a barrier near Gun Hill Road and flipped on its side, tying up traffic for hours. Three of the people in the car were children ages 5, 6 and 8. Although no one was seriously hurt, police say they could have been because the children were not in safety seats as required by law.
The unlicensed driver faces aggravated assault charges.
