? A dog in St. James felt the urge to hit the open road Wednesday night when it got behind the wheel of a van and crashed into a coffee shop.
The dog?s owner, 60-year-old Bryan Maher, left his van running when he entered Cool Beanz coffee shop at around 7 p.m. His pet, a 60-lb. mixed breed named Bentley, then jumped behind the wheel of the van, put it in gear and rolled into the building.
No tickets were issued by police.
"I noticed a vehicle approaching the building and didn't realize it was my vehicle,? says Maher. ?Then I realized it was coming into the building and we jumped back. And that's when I saw Bentley sitting behind the wheel."
