It's been six months since the Mall at Bay Plaza opened its doors in Co-op City, and so far, business is booming.
According to Sam Shalem, the CEO and chairman of Prestige Properties, sales have been better than anticipated since the mall opened back in August, going as much as 20 percent higher than projected.
Store managers agree, adding that the holidays were a success.
The Baychester Avenue shopping mecca held its grand opening back in August, becoming the first indoor, suburban style mall to be built in New York City in 40 years.
The center features dozens of stores, including Macy's, JCPenney and H&M, just to name a few, but shoppers can expect to see even more stores opening in the future.
