It's the first day back to school for some Long Island students, but in some districts a possible strike is looming for bus service.
News 12 Long Island has learned that starting Thursday some school bus drivers could walk off the job.
The possible strike would affect the Middle Country, Commack and Northport districts, and some special needs students in the BOCES schools.
Timothy Lynch, the president of the union that represents bus company workers, says they've been trying to come to an agreement with the Bauman and Sons bus company. The company includes ACME buses.
Both sides are scheduled to meet tomorrow.
However, the bus company says it has signs ready and if its demands are not met, drivers could walk off the job Thursday.
