Masked robbers invaded and burglarized the home of an East Patchogue family early Saturday morning, police say.
According to authorities, a 51-year-old man was retuning to his residence at 109 Pine Neck Rd. at around 2 a.m. when he was attacked in the driveway by three gunmen, who then forced their way into the house.
?They immediately went to the 21-year-old son's bedroom, where they stole from him a large jar containing cash and coins, and they fled the area,? says Det. Sgt. Dan Malloy.
Investigators say the 51-year-old victim suffered a cut to the head, but the other five people who were in the house at the time of the incident, including an 8-year-old child, were not harmed.
Although police say the burglars? behavior leads them to believe the house may have been targeted, the 21-year-old man denies any knowledge of his attackers.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
