(AP) - A second Buffalo public school student hasdied of swine flu.
Schools Superintendent Dr. James A. Williams released astatement of sympathy Saturday. The school district didn't identifythe student, but her mother told reporters the victim was9-year-old Maya Harden.
The Charles R. Drew Science Magnet School fourth-grader wascritically ill with the virus for more than a week. The girl'smother, Akea Hollingsworth, says her daughter diedSaturday after doctors "tried everything to get her lungscirculating."
A 15-year-old boy who attended the Harvey Austin School died ofswine flu June 20.
Some other children in the state have died of the virus, andhundreds have been hospitalized. But most deaths have been amongpeople between ages 25 and 64.
