Buddy the Beefalo, who made headlines in 2020 after escaping a Connecticut slaughterhouse, has officially been adopted through Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary's sponsorship program.

After his dramatic escape during the height of the pandemic, Buddy was safely captured and relocated to the sanctuary in Florida.

Sanctuary staff say Buddy now enjoys his space and prefers the company of his herd.

They say he's made it clear he's living life on his own terms.
