Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez says a Brooklyn NYPD officer was indicted for rape and sexual abuse for allegedly assaulting a woman inside a car.
Daheem Morris, 27, previously assigned to the 73rd Precinct in Brownsville and now Police Service Area 1, appeared in court on Tuesday and faces rape, sexual abuse, forcible touching and sexual misconduct charges in connection to the attack of a woman on Sept. 28, 2025.
DA Gonzalez says Morris and the victim, who knew each other for multiple years and shared mutual friends, attended the same party the night of the attack.
Morris and the woman were allegedly alone in a vehicle after the party when Morris engaged in sexual intercourse with her. According to court documents, she told him to stop multiple times and tried to push him away.
"This defendant is accused of raping a woman who repeatedly told him to stop, and we will seek to hold him fully accountable,” said Gonzalez. “No one is above the law, especially those who are sworn to uphold it. I am grateful to the victim for her cooperation and to the NYPD for their thorough investigation."
Morris was released without bail and ordered to return to court on May 8.
