A steamy car wash raised a few eyebrows in Brookhaven Sunday until drivers realized they weren't exactly getting what they paid for.
Suggestive signs and women yelling about a topless car wash stopped traffic on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley.
Mike Matias, 18, paid $5 to get his vehicle washed, and to peek at women behind a blue tarp. However, what he got instead was a topless fireman who washed his car.
"A little bit of a bait and switch," First Assistant Fire Chief Donald Prince admitted. "Kind of a marketing ploy. All the guys back there are all topless."
While the female drivers enjoyed the "eye candy," male customers like Matias felt a little cheated. Matias said at least his $5 went to a good cause.
The fire department said all money raised will benefit local school booster clubs and charities.
