The Bronx's Boricua College on Washington Avenue offers a different approach to learning, with an emphasis on catering to slightly older students.
The four-year private college opened its Bronx campus four years ago. Its first campus opened 40 years ago in Brooklyn. The school stresses small class sizes and a close relationship between students and professors.
It offers majors in fields such as business administration, childhood education and human services.
Students are also able to receive an associate's degree.
