Columbus High School track star Shaunn Smith sprinted past the competition in the PSAL Track and Field City Championships over the weekend.
Smith was one of thousands of athletes to descend on Randall's Island for the event. He rose to the occasion, taking first place in the 100-meter sprint. He also won the bronze in the 200-meter sprint.
Clinton's Jaysona Wright finished second in both the 800 and 1,500 runs. She joins Smith, who has the unofficial title as the borough's fastest man, as the borough's fastest woman.
