Brentwood parents and taxpayers turned out to Thursday's school board meeting to protest the consideration of a member's son for a director position.
William Moss, whose mother is the board president, is making a bid for the Director of Policy and Programs position.
Superintendent Levi McIntyre says the hiring would be done fairly by a vote of the school board, and the board president would be asked to abstain from participating in that vote.
Former Superintendent Michael Cohen says he wants the district to approve future rules that would prevent board members from being related to district employees.
The school is still taking applications for the position until August 5.
