It has certainly been a wild day of wet and windy weather on Long Island.
Strong wind gusts between 40 and 60 mph are still possible until around midnight. This can lead to additional scattered power outages.
Travel will remain tricky with scattered debris around from wind damage, as well as icy spots developing through the evening as temperatures drop to and eventually below freezing. This will cause any standing water to freeze.
A spotty rain or snow shower will continue to be possible, but the bulk of the wet weather is over.
Please continue to follow the latest News 12 Storm Watch weather updates on-air and on social media through the evening.
Have a great night and stay safe!
