Bratton: NYPD must be on alert amid ISIS threats
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton says he is taking extra precautions to make sure that his officers and the city stay safe in the wake of the attacks in Paris.
Bratton says that as of right now, there is no specific threat against New York City, but he says that the NYPD should still be prepared.
In the wake of a recent threat by ISIS calling for attacks on police along with the killings in Paris last week, Bratton is urging the NYPD to be on high alert. This includes performing patrols and traffic stops in pairs and monitoring suspicious vehicles and activity in the city.
Bratton also addressed the reports of the recent slowdown by police in arrests and citations. He cited reports from last week, saying that arrests are on the rise again and the slowdown has ended.
