The bow hunting of deer is now legal throughout Huntington town.
There are some restrictions hunters need to know before they head out into the woods.
Bow hunters can only hunt on private property, with the owner's permission. There is no hunting allowed on public land or in parks. Hunters must be 150 feet away from homes and must have a New York bow hunting license.
Bow hunting is only allowed during deer hunting season, which runs from Oct. 1 to Jan. 31.
