A bouncer is in extremely critical condition after an unruly patron allegedly choked him out Thursday at a Southampton bar.
Anthony Oddone, 25, was arrested for allegedly assaulting Andrew Reister, 40, at the Publick House out east. Police say Oddone held the 40-year-old in a choke hold for a significant time after the bouncer passed out.
The incident was allegedly sparked after Oddone told Reister to stop dancing on a table in the bar.
A number of patrons attempted to stop the attack. Police arrested Oddone after he allegedly tried to flee the scene in a taxi.
Oddone has been charged with first-degree assault and is being held on $500,000 bail. He was arraigned at Southampton Village Justice Court.
