Boil water advisory in effect for Bridgewater, Raritan Borough & Somerville; 1 lane open on Route 206 North

New Jersey American Water is telling its customers in Bridgewater, Raritan Borough, and Somerville that they are still under an active boil water advisory and should continue to boil their water before consumption.

Starbucks in downtown Somerville remains closed following Wednesday's water main break on Route 206.
New Jersey American Water is telling its customers in Bridgewater, Raritan Borough, and Somerville that they are still under an active boil water advisory and should continue to boil their water before consumption.
The 36-inch water main under Route 206 North in Somerville has since been repaired. One lane is open on Route 206 North at the site of the repair. Workers are expected to be at the site of the repair for a couple of days as the road still needs repaving.
Water service and pressure have been restored to the system, but the boil water advisory remains in effect this morning.
All 11 schools in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District will be open today, but parents are asked to send their children to school with bottled water to drink during the school day as water fountains will be closed.
Schools in the area are open but parents were reminded to send their kids to class with water bottles since water fountains are closed.
