A boater is recovering from a head injury after running aground in Long Island waters.
The Coast Guard says the boat had been traveling at a fast speed while following a second boat when the vessel hit land in Copiague just south of Tanner Park at around 9 p.m. Sunday.
The boater suffered a non-life-threatening head injury, according to authorities.
It is unclear whether any charges will be filed.
