The Board of Regents could approve plans next month to increase school aid by billions of dollars.
According to Newsday, the Board of Regents is considering an increase of $2.4 billion.
The State Board of Regents meets Dec. 14 and 15.
The state legislature would still have to approve the plan in the budget by April 1.
