A Blue Point teen was arraigned on arson charges Thursday for allegedly setting a Christmas tree on fire.
Police say 17-year-old Michael Eisenberg lit a dried tree on fire and threw it on the front porch of a home. According to police, the fire engulfed the front of the house. The family of four sleeping inside was able to escape through the back of the house. Police say the homeowner filled a garbage can with water and was able to douse the flames.
Eisenberg was charged with arson for the January 13 incident. Police say another Christmas tree was set on fire the same night. However, police say they will probably charge Eisenberg?s friend in connection to that incident.
