A 50-year-old man is set to be arraigned on several charges connected to a fatal crash in Holtsville that killed a teenager.
Robert Hengeveld faces charges including manslaughter, reckless driving, fleeing police and criminal possession of stolen property.
Police say Hengeveld was in a stolen pickup truck when an officer tried to pull him over on Long Island Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
They say the Blue Point man refused to stop and fled police before slamming into a Honda Civic at the corner of North Ocean Avenue and South Service Road.
The driver of the Honda died at the scene, and the female passenger was ejected and suffered serious injuries.
Hengeveld was hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening.
