Many Bronx residents are finding relief indoors and that means less people are heading out to donate blood. Officials from the Red Cross say most often blood drives are held in open spaces at community events. However, with temperatures approaching 100 degrees people are staying indoors and blood donations are low.
The Red Cross is also warning residents not to plug air conditioners into an outlet with other appliances. They say the outlet can overheat and cause a fire. Related Information: New York Blood Center New York Red Cross
