FORECAST:
The winds won't relent tonight, make sure your Christmas decorations outside are secure, along with patio furniture and trash/recycling cans. The winds will be fierce and gust up to 40-50 mph at times tonight. Sporadic power outages are possible.
Temperatures themselves will be quite cold with lows in the teens and lower 20s, but with the winds it will feel more like the single digits and lower teens starting out Friday.
Friday afternoon won't feel much better either. Wind chills will make it feel like it's only in the 20s.
Temperatures will try to recover Saturday, but they plunge again Sunday. There is also a risk of accumulating snow. A quick moving clipper will bring cold air but may also whip up some snow as it slides through the region early Sunday morning. The timing on this means temperatures will be cold enough for snow and for it to stick. Even a light snowfall may lead to slippery conditions on Sunday morning.
Temperatures will plummet again Sunday night and this means the ice/snow on the ground will stay around for Monday morning, too.
