Bethpage man accused of resisting arrest, injuring police officer

Police say a Bethpage man is facing charges for getting into a fight and resisting arrest, sending an officer to a hospital.

According to police, they were called to Normandy Drive on Sunday night after two men got into an argument.

Shareef Fiorentino, 25, walked up to a 52-year-old man’s car and broke the back window, police say.

When officers tried to arrest Fiorentino, News 12 was told he became violent and resisted arrest.

An officer was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.

Fiorentino faces multiple charges.
