Belmont Park and the Long Island Rail Road are making preparations to welcome more than 100,000 spectators for Saturday?s Belmont Stakes.
To meet the needs of about 30,000 passengers, the Long Island Rail Road will run 18 trains to Belmont Park. Riders are encouraged to stay at the racetrack after the Belmont Stakes to avoid the rush, as additional trains will be provided after the race.
The race will feature Long Island?s own Big Brown competing for the Triple Crown.
The Long Island Rail Road is reminding passengers that alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the trains or inside the park.
